WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

DERMAL FILLERS are gel-like substances consisting of Hylaurnic acid. Hylauronic acid is a natural substance found in our bodies that provides us with a youthful appearance. As we age, the amount of hylauronic acid diminishes.

In Aesthetic Medicine, we inject a cross-linked variation of hylauronic acid to restore, enhance and augment facial appearance. This is done by injecting the DERMAL FILLERS to the superficial fat deposits and deep fat deposits. Providing lifting and glowing results!

HOW TO PREPARE FOR TREATMENT?

Prior to your appointment there are a few things you need to be aware of:

Avoid wearing make-up on the day of your appointment. This will help reduce the risk of infection.

Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before your appointment. Alcohol does have a blood-thinning tendancy and will increase you risk of bruising, bleeding & swelling.

2-3 days prior to your appointment, IF POSSIBLE avoid taking blood thinning over-the-counter medications or herbal supplements such as: Aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Willow Bark, Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginko Balboa, St. John's Wart, Omega-3s. DO NOT stop any medications prescribed by your physician. We will review them with our Medical Director during your consultation.

Avoid anti-aging serums/topicals ointments consisting of: tretinoin (Retinol-A) retinols, retinoids, glycolic acid, alpha hydroxy acid...

If you suffer from cold sores, inform your injector prior to your treatment. You will be provided with an antiviral treatment 2 days prior to your appointment.
