BOTOX®/DYSPORT®

WHAT IS BOTOX®/DYSPORT®?

BOTOX® and DYSPORT® are types of pharmaceutical drugs classified as Health Canada approved Neuromodulators. Neuromodulators are derived from botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin contains a protein which works to block the production of acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is responsible for the contraction of muscles.

In Aesthetic Medicine, BOTOX®/DYSPORT® have become increasingly popular for their characteristic to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

When using BOTOX®/DYSPORT® you are relaxing the muscle, which is then preventing the repetitive creasing within the skin. Resulting in reduced appearance of wrinkles.
